Semrush One vs. Classic Plans: What You Actually Pay (2026)

Semrush One starts at $199.95/mo. We ran the math on every combo so you know when the bundle saves money and when it doesn't.

Semrush just gave its pricing page a full restructure, and the math is genuinely confusing — by design. Here’s the spreadsheet they didn’t build for you: when Semrush One saves you money, when it doesn’t, and the seat-cost sting that doubles your bill before you realize what happened.

We spent the afternoon comparing every plan combo across both tiers. If you’re already paying for multiple add-ons, the One bundle might flip cheaper today. If you’re a solo freelancer on Pro, you’re probably not moving.

What Changed: Classic Plans vs. Semrush One

Until recently, Semrush lived on a single plan ladder: Starter, Pro, Business, Enterprise. Straightforward math. Now they’ve layered in Semrush One: a bundled tier that combines SEO tools, content marketing, and AI Visibility into one package.

The classic plans still exist. They’re just no longer the obvious default — which is the point.

Classic lineup: Starter ($99/mo), Pro ($199.95/mo), Guru ($249.95/mo), Business ($499.95/mo).

Semrush One lineup: Pro ($199.95/mo), Pro+ ($299/mo), Business ($499.95/mo).

Same names, wildly different feature sets. One bundles AI Visibility in. The classic tiers don’t, unless you bolt on the $99/mo add-on separately.

The Monthly Billing Comparison

Here’s the real math. We’ll use annual billing since both tiers offer it, but monthly is where the squeeze happens:

ScenarioClassic CostOne CostDifference
Solo freelancer, Pro + nothing$199.95/moClassic wins by $0
Pro + AI Visibility add-on$199.95 + $99 = $298.95/moOne Pro ($199.95/mo)One saves $99/mo
Guru + AI Visibility add-on$249.95 + $99 = $348.95/moOne Pro+ ($299/mo)One saves $49.95/mo
Business + AI Visibility$499.95 + $99 = $598.95/moOne Business ($499.95/mo)One saves $99/mo

The trick: Semrush One only makes sense if you’d already be paying for AI Visibility. If you’re a solo user on classic Pro with no add-ons, they’re identical. If you’re paying for two features separately, the bundle wins.

When the Bundle Is Actually Cheaper

The key unlock is how AI pricing restructures tend to work: platforms bundle expensive new features into higher tiers to justify the cost and make mid-tier plans look dated.

Semrush is doing exactly that. AI Visibility is a $99/mo add-on in the classic tiers. In One, it’s free at every level.

If you’re already using AI Visibility — or considering it because you’re tracking brand mentions and content performance across multiple AI platforms — the One bundle flips the economics instantly. The Guru-plus-AI combo ($348.95/mo) is $49.95/mo more expensive than One Pro+ ($299/mo). That’s $600/year in the bundle’s favor.

For teams already locked into SurferSEO or Frase, this is less relevant. For teams trying to go all-in on Semrush’s entire toolkit, One is the play.

The Seat-Cost Sting They Don’t Advertise

Here’s where both plan tiers get expensive fast: additional team members.

In the classic plans, each extra seat costs:

  • Pro: $45/mo per seat
  • Guru: $80/mo per seat
  • Business: $100/mo per seat

In Semrush One, each extra seat costs:

  • Pro: $45/mo per seat
  • Pro+: $60/mo per seat
  • Business: $100/mo per seat

Run the math on a 3-person agency:

Classic Guru (3 seats): $249.95 base + ($80 × 2 extra) = $409.95/mo

One Pro+ (3 seats): $299 base + ($60 × 2 extra) = $419/mo

You’re paying almost the same for fewer features in the classic plan. But if you’re on a smaller team:

Classic Pro (2 seats): $199.95 + $45 = $244.95/mo

One Pro (2 seats): $199.95 + $45 = $244.95/mo

Still a tie. The break-even happens when you cross the Guru threshold or add more than one extra seat. At that point, One’s seat pricing isn’t obviously better — it just depends on which feature set you actually need.

What Semrush One Actually Adds (and What It Doesn’t)

Semrush One bundles:

  • Full SEO toolkit (keyword research, rank tracking, on-page optimization)
  • Content marketing module
  • AI Visibility (brand monitoring + AI detection)
  • Backlink analysis

What you don’t get in One at any tier that exists in classic Business:

  • Social media management
  • Advertising Intelligence (ad creative benchmarking)
  • Sales Intelligence

If you need ads benchmarking or sales prospecting, One doesn’t help — you’re still buying classic. If you only care about SEO, content, and brand monitoring, One is probably complete.

Compare Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit vs. Ahrefs Brand Radar to confirm whether the bundled AI Visibility in One actually fits your monitoring needs.

Who Should Pick What

Solo freelancer, SEO-only focus: Classic Pro ($199.95/mo). No AI Visibility needed. One Pro costs the same but you’re paying for bundled features you won’t touch. Stick with classic.

Solo freelancer, wants brand monitoring: One Pro ($199.95/mo). Same cost as classic Pro, but you get AI Visibility included. Free upgrade in effect.

2–3 person SEO agency: One Pro or Pro+ ($199.95–$299/mo + seats). The seat cost is competitive, and the bundled AI Visibility means you’re not layering a $99/mo add-on on top of base.

Content team already using content tools: Check SEO content tool alternatives to see whether Semrush’s content module competes with SurferSEO or Frase pricing. If you’re already paying for Frase ($99–$199/mo), One Pro+ ($299/mo) might be more expensive in total, not cheaper.

Large agency on Business tier: One Business ($499.95/mo) vs. classic Business ($499.95/mo) — same base price, but One bundles AI Visibility which would otherwise cost $99/mo extra on classic. Net One savings: $99/mo.

The Verdict

For most solo users already on classic Pro with no add-ons: don’t move. You’re paying the same either way.

For anyone paying for AI Visibility separately: One’s bundle flips the math immediately. A Guru + AI combo ($348.95/mo) costs $50/mo more than One Pro+ ($299/mo). Over a year, that’s $600 in One’s favor.

The seat pricing isn’t magical — it’s comparable to classic — but One’s real advantage is bundling the expensive AI Visibility layer so you’re not nickeled-and-dimed with add-ons.

Try Semrush free for 14 days and plug in your actual keywords and brand terms. If the One bundle covers your feature use, the pricing math works. If you’re only using half the toolkit, classic Pro is still the call.

We didn’t test Semrush One against every competitor — but we did run the numbers on the bundle itself. The data is here. The decision is yours.
